Understanding Emotions Through The "Inside Out 2" Film
Inside Out 2 is an animation sequel from the movie Inside Out. It's continue the story of a girl named Riley and the variety emotions inside of her mind center, such as Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger, and Fear. As she grows up and face challenges through the process on her journey toward adulthood. Riley begins to experience the new emotions that she has never felt when she was a child, including Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment. In Particularly, Anxiety starts to dominate and takes control of her life.
This is not an ordinary animated film, it highlights how important emotions in search of self identity in period time of adolescent, with variety of emotional experiences by teenagers. Which is during this period time, the feelings of anxiety, fear, embarrassment, and even unhappiness with life can emerge and leading to suffer.
Every emotion has its own role in influencing teenagers mental state, as one quote says, Every feeling is important. As shown in this film, the emotions contained in Riley's mind headquarters play a role in determining Riley's feelings. The role of Joy in providing a positive view in every experience in everyday life i order to stay happy. Sadness provides an understanding of accepting a reality through the sorrow. Anger is the venting of negatives feeling. Fear and disgust reminds as always to be aware of potential danger situations.
With the emergence of new emotions during the process of adulthood, such a Anxiety, Ennui, and Embarrassment has a role in processing the feeling. These emotions help us to respond to a threat, learn to improve and become a better person, also personal growth. However, these emotions could be boomerang if we cant learn to understand and control them. Which could leading to serious mental issue such as stress, depression, anxiety disorders, and other mental illnesses.
The Definition of Anxiety
What if I fail to deliver my presentation well? I cant speak in the front of camera, what if people get angry because I keep failing to read those dialogue? words comes out when we're feeling pressured by a difficult situation.
Sometimes, anxiety can be managed and faced normally. But have you ever experiencing a time where you find yourself hard to breath, cold sweat on your skin, heart beating faster, and your whole body trembled, as it have a thought it would be the end of your life
Anxiety is a mental condition when we have intense feelings of shame, discomfort, worry, and fear. This condition arises when we face difficult situations and overanalyze perceived threats and stressors. Anxiety can impact our daily activity, interaction with others, and even suppress our potential.
Just like in Inside Out 2, Anxiety creates multiple possibilities that can disrupt Riley's sleep. As her anxiety continues to grow and worsen the situations, Riley's heart begin to ache and beating faster. At the moment, anxiety fully takes control of her mind.
The Importance of Emotions
From childhood and growing up to become an adult, many of us are taught by older people on how to handle problems in adulthood, including how to make good relationships with other people, how to manage financial independently, and various ways to develop and become better individual in every aspect of maturity. However, parents often forget to teach us about how to manage emotions we experience, such as doubt, fear, and other issues that lead us to suffer. As a result, when these emotions arise, we often find ourselves at a lost, unsure of how to effectively manage these feelings.
To becoming more aware by developing the ability to understand, recognize, and control emotions can significantly enhance our mental health. It may seems difficult and not as easy as we think, just try to accept and embrace our feelings, even it can lead us to sadness or happiness.
Also, the support from those closest to us is needed, such as family and friends, through open communication about the emotions we are experiencing is essential. This support can assist us in managing difficult to understand emotions more effectively.

ReplyDeleteAfter I watched the movie, I've come to the same conclusion with you. Orang tua memang tidak pernah mengajari tentang bagaimana cara meregulasi emosi pada anaknya. Kebanyakan dari mereka hanya mengajari cara-cara bertahan hidup, tanpa kita tahu bahwa pengendalian emosi dan kontrol diri juga diperlukan. Jadi, sudah tugas kita untuk bisa lebih mengenali diri sendiri (dengan berbagai macam emosinya) dan mempelajari cara untuk menyeimbangkan serta mengekspresikan masing-masing emosi. Semangat untuk kita semua! 🤩🙌🏻
